Best of all, every event is carefully curated by our Community and Events Manager, Lucy, whose mission is simple: to help you feel at home, connect with your new community, and have plenty of fun along the way.

Welcome Week at Gravity

We’re kicking off the semester with a packed calendar at Gravity in Lincoln, so get ready for a week filled with energy and laughter.

Meet Lucy, Your Community and Events Manager

Behind every sushi social, craft night, and carnival is Lucy, our Community and Events Manager. She’s passionate about creating events that feel welcoming, inclusive, and unforgettable.

Here’s a quick Q&A to get to know her better:

What excites you most about welcoming new residents this year

It’s always lovely to meet new people and see new faces. Every year, we see a different energy brought in by the new students, so it’s quite refreshing and keeps the job interesting! 

Which upcoming event are you most looking forward to?
The Iconinc Grand Carnival! Every year, I choose a different theme for our welcome party, and this year I’m working with a new supplier to bring a variety of fun games to the event. I love watching how these activities can take the pressure off of being in a brand new place and meeting new people! 

How do you come up with ideas for events at Iconinc?
I listen to our residents - what they enjoy, what they’d love to try. Then I discuss ideas with our site and deputy managers. This is a great way of covering all bases so that we can collaboratively come up with a great set of events that suit our students and that you won’t get anywhere else! 

What advice do you have for residents looking to make the most of their Iconinc experience?
Don’t be shy, come along to events, even if you don’t know anyone yet. Within minutes, you’ll meet people and start building your community. 

What’s your favourite memory from an Iconinc event so far?
It’d have to be our Glow in the Dark Golf Par-tee last year. Not only did the students LOVE it, the staff really enjoyed themselves. That’s when I know I’ve done a really great job.
