There’s no denying it, Liverpool is a great city to live and study in. It’s even more fun though when you’ve got a three day weekend to explore the city, do some cool activities and just chill out with your friends. With August Bank Holiday coming up, we thought it’d be a good idea to let you all know what you can get up to in Liverpool over the last bank holiday before Christmas!

Here are a few ideas if things to do this August Bank Holiday weekend in Liverpool…

    Liverpool Prosecco Festival

    26th – 27th August | Camp and Furnace

If there’s one city that knows how to enjoy a classy glass of prosecco, it’s Liverpool. And what better way to celebrate this delicious drink than by hosting a Prosecco Festival? Head to Camp and Furnace on the 26th or 27 August, and for four fabulous hours, you can enjoy 5 glasses of prosecco from a range of exclusive Northern Italian producers. On entry to the festival, you’ll be given a booklet which explains the differences between each variety of prosecco and there are even special tastings and masterclasses to take part in throughout the experience!

    Creamfields

    24th – 27th August | Daresbury, Cheshire

Creamfields is the dance festival of all dance festivals in the UK and you’d be silly to miss out if you like a good old party to the likes of Annie Mac, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, and Tiesto. Located in Cheshire, we know it’s not Liverpool, but it’s super easy to get to from Liverpool Lime Street and surrounding stations. If you want the true festival experience, grab your tent and go camping for the full three days. Alternatively, you book yourself into one of the luxury campsites where you could stay in a bell tent, a luxury tipi or even a summer lodge. Now that sounds like the way to do a festival!

    Pier Head Village

    30th June – 10th Sept | The Pier Head

Liverpool’s waterfront is always a good place to hang out but during the summer months, The Pier Head gets a revamp and is transformed into the amazing Pier Head Village. Fun for friends, families and couples, there’s something for everyone here and it’s definitely worth a trip out over the August bank holiday weekend. Start your day at The Danger Tree, an interactive and augmented art experience which brings the artwork in this exhibition to life. The rest of the day can be spent enjoying the rides, playing in the inflatable village, chilling out to The Sunset Sessions in the Village Beach Bar or relaxing to acoustic music in the Sound City Bar and Garden.

    Folk On The Dock

    26th – 28th August | Albert Dock

Over August bank holiday weekend, over 200 folk artists will gather around Albert Dock for a two day musical session featuring performers from across the UK and Europe. The Moulettes are headlining and other acts include Wildwood Kin and Lee Southall. It promises to be a fun event in a gorgeous area of Liverpool which might just introduce you to your next favourite band!

Tracey Emin and William Blake In Focus

    16th September 2016 – 3rd September 2017 | Tate Liverpool

You might not think it but Tracey Emin and Willam Blake’s work has a lot in common and this exhibition aims to show just what it is that brings these two artists together. With Tracey Emin’s “My Bed” on display in the North for the first time, and William Blake’s work standing alongside, it’s definitely an exhibition worth going to see if you’re interested in the world of art.

    Liverpool v Arsenal

    27th August | Anfield Road

It’s going to be one of Liverpool’s biggest games of the season and it’s just happens to be a home game, on August bank holiday weekend. Grab your tickets, settle into your seat and enjoy what will hopefully be a win for Liverpool!

This is just a taster of what goes on in Liverpool over the August bank holiday weekend and there’ll be plenty more going on too! If you live in IconInc, The Ascent in Liverpool, there’ll be plenty more events happening throughout the year and we’ll keep you updated with what’s going on!
