The people of Leeds have embraced Thai cuisine with open arms and you won’t struggle to find a good one that’s in your price range. There’s dozens of decent Thai restaurants dotted all over the city and the majority of them are top-notch. We pick out six of the best that cater to different crowds; from vegetarian friendly to high-end to cheap as chips.

    Sukhothai

With three successful Leeds restaurants in Chapel Allerton, Headingley and the city centre, Sukhothai is one of the major players that haven’t let their reputation go to their heads. The South Parade venue is the best of the three, with a stunning interior filled with intricate Thai ornaments and carvings, and some of the tastiest food that also happens to be incredibly reasonably priced.

The Gai Tod Prik Gang with its deep fried chicken in red curry sauce is to-die-for and one of the most popular dishes. Essential date night venue. Check out their extensive menu here.

    Chaophraya

Without a doubt Leeds most luxurious Thai restaurant, Sukhothai isn’t cheap but it certainly offers an authentic Thai experience you wont forget in a hurry. Set over two floors in one of the city’s most decadent interiors, you’ll need a good half hour sipping an ice cold Singha just to make your choice. The sharing platter starter is out of this world and when you’re done, you can head downstairs to the Palm Sugar Lounge cocktail bar for one of their signature drinks.

    Zaap Thai Street Food

This little gem popped up out of nowhere in 2015 and has never been empty since. Taking inspiration from the streets of Thailand, this restaurant manages to capture the hustle and bustle you’d expect to find in Bangkok complete with Tuk Tuk seating and service is super-fast. This isn’t the place to graze for hours, but if you want cheap, tasty food in a hurry, then this is the place to go.

    Thai Edge

Another fine dining Thai restaurant that serves exceptional food in an exquisite setting ,Thai Edge is just off Millenium Square and boasts some of the best seafood you’ll find in Yorkshire. The scallop and prawn curries are an absolute must and they also happen to serve food Via Deliveroo should you need to pass their fine cooking off as your own for a special guest.

    Thai A Roy Dee

Located on Vicar Lane, value is the name of the game at Thai A Roy Dee. Their Tom Yum soup is the stuff legends are made of and they also have a bring your own booze policy, meaning you can sip your favourite wine or beer whilst enjoying their authentic cuisine. A Leeds favourite that rarely has an empty seat – book in advance.

    Jinos Thai

Another bring your own bottle restaurant, this time in Headingley, Jinos is nothing to look at on the surface, but don’t let that fool you. This unassuming eatery has been in business since 2003, serving simple Thai food that always delivers on taste and price. The jungle curry with tiger prawns or haddock is an absolute win.
