Moving Out of Your Student Accommodation

We hope that you’ve enjoyed your time living in the UK’s Best Luxury Student Accommodation; Iconinc. Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye to some of our students who have completed their degrees and are moving on to embark on a new career or moving to a new city or country. Below are a few tips to help make your move as stress free as possible. Book a pre-move out inspection – before you officially hand in your keys, the team at Iconinc can check over your room and give you tips on vacating your room (if required) If you have any questions, make sure you pop down and speak to our friendly concierge team. Alternatively, you can call 0330 111 5200 or email the Iconinc team. Clearing your apartment: It is really important to fully clear your apartment of all your personal belongings. Once you hand your keys back, we will assume that anything left in your apartment, is for the bin. We understand many of our students live overseas and taking all your possessions back home is sometimes unrealistic. That is why, at Iconinc we have partnered with the national charity; British Heart Foundation. Any belongings including clothes, furniture, electrical items, homeware, books, accessories, CDs and DVDs can be donated to this fantastic cause. In each Iconinc building in Leeds, Liverpool and Lincoln, there are large donation boxes to place any of your unwanted items in.
Deposit: All our deposits are held by My Deposits. Any deductions that are made to your deposit would be to cover any damage you may have caused or any uncleanliness left behind. We hope by you pre-booking a pre-end of tenancy clean, we will eradicate any of these reasons to deduct from your deposit. Please speak to our concierge team should you wish to pre-book your move-out clean. Light cleans of an apartment cost from £50, a deep clean costs from £100 – please note this is dependent upon the size of your apartment.
Top ten tips Moving out of your luxury student accommodation should be a positive experience. By following these tips, you can ensure a smooth and hassle-free transition to your next chapter in life: >br> 1. Plan ahead: Start planning your move well in advance. Create a checklist of tasks you need to accomplish before moving day. This will help you stay organised and avoid last-minute stress. 2. Book a pre-end of tenancy clean – contact Iconinc concierge to book this in! Prices start from just £50 per apartment. 3. Clean and declutter: Before you leave, thoroughly clean your accommodation and declutter unnecessary items. This will not only leave a good impression but also make your moving process easier and more organised. Don’t forget, Iconinc are working with the British Heart Foundation – there are large donation boxes in each ground floor lounge/reception area ready for you to drop off any unwanted items. 4. Pack systematically: Pack your belongings systematically and label your boxes. This will make unpacking in your new place much easier. 5. Inform relevant parties: Update your address with important organisations, including your university, bank, and any subscriptions or services you use regularly. Redirect your mail to your new address to avoid any inconvenience. 6. Take pictures: Before leaving, take photographs of the condition of the accommodation to document its state. This can help you in case of any disputes over the security deposit. 7. Schedule a final inspection: If possible, arrange for a final inspection with the Iconinc team. Discuss any potential deductions from your security deposit, and address any concerns about the property. 8. Recycle and dispose of waste responsibly: Ensure you dispose of waste properly and recycle as much as you can. There are plenty of bins within the Iconinc buildings for you to properly dispose of your rubbish. 9. Say goodbye to other residents and Iconinc team members: Take the time to say goodbye and exchange contact information. Take care of the keys: Make sure you return all keys and access cards to the Iconinc concierge. There is a small fee for lost key cards so make sure you find them before moving out!
