Aug, '22One of our Student Icon’s, Lauren Charlton has created the ultimate guide to improve your studies, providing first hand top tips to help you get the most from your time here at Iconinc. Each section will focus on a key area or service provided at Iconinc, that if you use optimally, will really help to enhance both your academic and personal goals! 1. Study rooms 2. Gym 3. Cinema and Lounges 4. Free breakfast and hot drinks 5. Well-designed rooms 6. Social events 7. Staff 8. Social Media A bit of an obvious one to start, but the study rooms provide a great place to work on assignments or revise for exams. Whether you want to study alone in silence or invite a group of friends around for a study party, the study rooms can easily be booked out to suit your needs. Plus, it avoids the walk to the library, so there is no excuse really not to get working on that essay! BOOK via the Iconinc App in advance to avoid disappointment! 2. Gym Everyone knows how good exercise is for the body, but did you know it can be great for the brain too! The endorphins released from a short run, or just the time away from your books can really enhance your mood and increase motivation for study. Gym memberships can be expensive nowadays, so with a well-equipped gym right on your doorstep, there is no excuse not to get in that workout, even if it is short! If you aren't sure what to do, why not attend one of our gym sessions run by a qualified PT! 3. Cinema and Lounges Now, it may seem a bit controversial to be promoting going to the cinema or watching TV, as many people see this as a form of procrastination. Whilst binge watching Netflix for 12 hours a day when you should be studying isn't advised, taking an hour or two to relax and unwind with some friends is a great way to refresh your brain for the next set of lectures or revision! We have all the streaming networks available and lots of games in the lounges, so why not grab a few friends and watch your favourite movie or fight it out over a game of monopoly. 4. Free breakfast and hot drinks Free food always is an incentive to students, but when used correctly, this service provided by Iconinc can not only help the budgeting but also improve your studies. Did you know many students skip breakfast, but it's actually the most important meal of the day! Your brain runs completely off glucose so getting a good amount of carbohydrates, alongside some protein to keep you full, and healthy fats for brain health is key to setting the day off right!
Why not try some of the combinations below? - Bagel with peanut butter and jam
- Freshly made buttered bread
- Cereal with milk
- Greek yogurt with sliced banana and chia seeds
