Two years after IconInc opened its doors to the students of Leeds for the first time, we’re excited to be developing our second location: The Glassworks.

More students deserve the opportunity to live in a bit of luxury during university, so here’s everything you need to know if you’re thinking of upgrading your everyday life:

    What is it?

The Glassworks is our second building for luxury student accommodation in Leeds and it will feature 154 high-end apartments, a gym, a private cinema, a gaming room, free grab-and-go breakfast, as well as many other added benefits.

    Where is it?

The site is located at 228 Cardigan Road, Leeds, LS6 1FN. It is only a mile away from the University of Leeds.

    When does it open?

IconInc "The Glassworks" officially opens 1st July 2017.

    Who can stay there?

Any student who wants their stay at university in Leeds to be as luxuriously comfortable as possible.

As long as you’re a university student in Leeds, you can secure an apartment at The Glassworks.

    How much is it?

Prices for an apartment at The Glassworks Leeds start at £179 per week.

What extras do I get at The Glassworks?

Just like at The Edge in Leeds, you’ll get access to a range of extras to make your stay with us extra special.

Here’s a taste of what to expect from The Glassworks:

    • All bills are included in the rent

    • Free use of IconInc's facilities

    • Sophisticated interior design

    • En suite bathroom with shower

    • Large flat-screen TV

    • Contents insurance included

    • Superfast 300 Mb broadband

    • Gym

    • Free private cinema and games zone

    • Lounge and study-room

    • Pool room

    • Free breakfast and 24-hour coffee

    • 24-hour concierge

How close is it to the uni?

The Glassworks lies only one mile away from the University of Leeds. You can walk or catch public transport there in less than 20 minutes and cycle (downhill) in five minutes.

What are the local bars and pubs like?

We’ll be a couple of minutes away from Brudenell Social Club, which is a local favourite for top gigs and cheap drinks.

What’s more, The Glassworks site is only a 20-minute walk away from bustling student area, Headingley, which boasts a range of bars and pubs that are frequented on Leeds’ student nights.

You can find out more in our blog post about the nearby bars and pubs here

    Where can I go shopping?

Leeds is famous for the quality of its shopping experience and the good news is that it’s very accessible from our new location.

There are a number of bus routes that run in and out of the city centre (49, 50 and 50A, to name a few), so it’s really easy to reach the likes of the Headrow, Briggate, Trinity Shopping Centre and Victoria Gate, which will be open by the time The Glassworks opens next year.

In terms of food shopping, you’ll find (at the time of writing) four major supermarkets within walking distance of our new building.

Where can I go to chill out?

The Glassworks will feature a private cinema, a games room and some quiet, social areas and meeting rooms, should you need them, so there are plenty of options outside of your room to chill out here.

If you want to venture out, the historic Hyde Park Picture House, which is a 100-year-old traditional cinema, is within walking distance of our site and we’re right opposite Burley Park if you find yourself needing some grassland.

If you need to know anything else about The Glassworks, please don’t hesitate to contact us today and we’ll be happy to help you.
