Leeds is a city awash with entertainment and has always had a reputation for its late-night, hardcore clubbing scene. Back2Basics, Speed Queen, Glasshouse and Federation are just a handful of the super brands the Northern city that never sleeps have produced over the years – but what if you’re simply not into clubbing?!

If the thought of an army of sweaty ravers waving their glow sticks in your face is your idea of hell, then fear not. There’s plenty of top-drawer evening entertainment that doesn’t require you queue for half an hour in the pouring rain to listen to the latest noise put out by Calvin Harris. We run through just a handful of our favourites:

    Karaoke at Lucky Voice

Tucked away in Tiger Tiger, Lucky Voice karaoke allows you and your friends to escape from the throng of this loud and raucous bar, and sing and dance like nobody’s watching. Not only does each pod come with a table service buzzer, but the song choice is gigantic.

Whether you fancy some Motown classics, a bit of Adele or even The Spice Girls (We promise we won’t judge), you name it, they got it! With 50% off most drinks between 5-9pm, it provides a fun night that won’t break the bank. Check out their site for offers and bookings.

Virtual indoor golf at Golf Bar

If you fancy putting at some of the world’s most iconic courses without setting foot outside Leeds city centre, then swing on over to Golf Bar in Granary Wharf. Go up against your mates at St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, or hone your skills in the training bay where playback allows you to rewind your performance.

Ping pong at Roxy Ball Room

Doubters that said ping pong would never take off in Leeds have been left with egg all over their face; Roxy Ball Room has been packed to the rafters since opening three years back. Munch their tasty pizza as you tear up the table with your mates, and if you get bored, they now have a crazy gold course upstairs.

    Movie classics at Everyman

If the latest Hollywood blockbusters just ain’t your cup of tea, then Everyman cinema have monthly events showcasing bonafide classics, live theatre and arthouse movies. With reasonably priced pizza and premium alcohol, their comfy sofas complete with cushions and table provide the perfect place to enjoy Mean Girls, Gone with the Wind or whatever your favourite oldie may be. Or, you could just go check out Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool.

The Comedy Sessions at HIFI Club

HIFI have consistently put on awesome nights for years, whether it be their soul, disco and Motown music feast or the latest live act. The Comedy Sessions nights have been popular enough to take up residence every Saturday night and features fresh talent from around the globe. Tickets are just a mere 11 English pounds – book them now here.
